European Young Journalist Award 2009 kicks off

eu_journalist_awardThe European Commission's Directorate-General for Enlargement, in cooperation with the European Youth Press and cafebabel.com, launched the second European Young Journalist Award 2009.

From 2 February 2009 – 31 May 2009 young journalists aged 17 - 35, citizens or residents of the 27 member states of the EU or the candidate and potential candidate countries, are invited to participate in the 2009 European Young Journalist Award and to reflect and express their views on Europe and the European Union’s enlargement.

award ceremony took place in Brussels in
the presence of Ján Figel.
The European Commission awarded 12
projects, which belonged to the three
actions of the Europe for citizens program, ie. Town twinning, Civil society and Remembrance.

Record size financial lifebuoy for Hungary

To ease this strong anxiety last week the International Monetary Found, the European Union and the World Bank decided to give Hungary a rescue package of €20 billion to cope with the touchable effects of the financial crisis.
