In Hungary there are a lot of beliefs, superstitions, customs around Christmas time.
In the last decades most of the folk traditions has been disappeared from real life but symbolically we still commemorate them.

One of my friends told me to go. „Okay than we should go” – I said. On the homepage of the collage an EU negotiation simulation training was announced by an organization called Negotiation Moot and I thought it’s going to be interesting and on the other hand I will meet new people and see how „Yrope” is working in the real life.

A few days ago Eurofound published a resume of 2nd European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS).
This survey highlights the social and economic policy challenges that the European Union faces today following the two recent rounds of enlargement.
The final result and the statistics were made on the basis of both objective and subjective elements and it makes the impression that we Hungarians are the champions of pessimism in Europe.

After contacting a dozen youngsters via email and phone to talk about the currently tense nationalist relations, only one was ready to tell me about his personal experiences.

There are growing fears that following Iceland, ex-socialist Central-European countries could be the following victims of the international financial crisis. To ease this strong anxiety last week the International Monetary Found, the European Union and the World Bank decided to give Hungary a rescue package of €20 billion to cope with the touchable effects of the financial crisis. But will Hungary remain to be the only EU-member indigent for such support? What do Hungarians think about this help? And what is the price of this special first-aid?

On October 23, many Hungarians, all around the country, commemorated their compatriots who fought in the anti-Soviet revolution in 1956. A total of 485 events took place throughout the county. Senior government officials laid wreaths at key sites of the revolution and at the memorial in a public cemetery where martyrs of the revolution were buried in unmarked graves.
Similarly to the last two years, anti-government, mostly far right demonstrators also held their own rallies, but significantly less people participated at their programs this year. In contrast to last year, the events went peacefully and there were no clashes between the police and the far right groups.
